    Jako Farm honey is here!

We just finished honey harvest and the bees have given us the most lovely, golden honey we’ve ever seen!  This honey is raw, unfiltered, and produced right here at Jako Farm.  Find it in the farm store or on your delivery order form for $22.50/qt or $12.50/pt.

    Whole lamb available soon!

Lambs will go to the butcher next month, so place your order now!  Buying a whole lamb is the most economical way to purchase lamb– you’ll get all the cuts that come from a lamb (rack, chops, leg, ground, etc) for about $8.50/lb.  That’s a huge savings over buying individual cuts from the farm store!  One lamb will yield about 45 lbs of meat for a total cost of about $400 (including processing).  You’ll make all cut instructions with Yoder Meats customize the lamb to your exact preferences.  Reply to this email and let me know how many lambs to reserve for you!

    New llama joins the farm

Meet Paco, the newest member of Jako Farm!   Llamas provide excellent protection to sheep, and when we recently sold part of our flock to another farmer, we sent Porter along to protect them.  Paco is now the Jako Farm llama, and he’s fitting in nicely.  He was formerly a pack animal in Colorado, carrying 50-100lbs of cargo on hikes, which he enjoyed very much.  Daniel is excited to see if he enjoys carrying supplies through the pasture as Daniel builds portable fencing.
