• Celebrate the solstice, check out these chickens, and more

    Celebrate the summer solstice!

Today is the longest day of the year, which means we’re celebrating the most sunshine, the most grass growth, and the happiest animals of any other day!  To celebrate this abundant day, take $5 off your next dairy purchase from Jako Farm (because milk comes from sunshine and grass, of course).  To redeem, write coupon code SOLSTICE on your ticket and subtract $5 from your subtotal.  One per family please, redeem before the next full moon (June 28).  Happy solstice!

If this doesn’t crack you up…

Our newest batch of layer chickens are two months old.  They’re just learning to hop up on perches and roost, a skill that they’ll utilize as adult birds.  These lanky “teenage” chickens were pretty awkward about roosting practice, and the one on the far left seems to be saying, “Is this how you do it?”  It’s fun to watch them figure things out.

    When something goes wrong

Last week, one of our milk chilling tanks couldn’t keep up in the hot weather.  We didn’t realize it until a few days later.  This milk, which wasn’t chilled quickly enough after milking, only stayed fresh for about a week before souring.  The problem has been fixed, but if you purchased some fresh milk from us last week that went sour before you could use it, please replace it with fresh milk from the farm store.  We stand behind our products 100% and want you to be fully satisfied!
