• Eggs are back, sample soup this weekend, and more

Don’t everybody run, but there are eggs again…

The new pullet hens have begun laying, so you’ll begin to see eggs return to the farm store!  Both large and small eggs will be available in limited quantities, but they’ll continue to pick up as the days lengthen and the pullets grow up.

    Sip on soup this weekend

This weekend only in the farm store, Robyn will have samples of her favorite bone broth appetizer soup– it’s absolutely delicious and perfect for the first course of a holiday meal.  Come help yourself!

    Baby pigs are born!

Two of our mama sows gave birth this week to a total of thirteen piglets!  (The third mama should farrow any day now…)  These three mama pigs have made one giant nest out of soft grass and hay and are co-parenting all of the piglets.  It is so fun to watch them work together.  They both nurse any/all the pigs and take turns going for food and water.  Whenever we go for a visit, one sow stays with the litter while the others come to chase us away.  It’s a pretty impressive collaboration in the animal world.
